President's Message

	As we think about the ingredients that make a successful investment, we realize we spend as much of our time at UFC trying to identify the right partners as we do searching for deals themselves. We seek the following attributes: Values that are consistent with our own A track record of profitable operations An internal structure already in place Once we are able to identify fencing contractor companies with these fundamental characteristics, we then work with them to effect a plan of transition for the owners - so they can make their retirement plans. Also, this provides a way to either help keep their other family in the business and/or to help their key employees remain. And, here are the resultant advantages: Owners, who very often have a lifetime of 'sweat equity' in their business, can finally start answering the question - ""What will I do with the money I get if I were to sell my company?" Developing a harmonious relationship that will withstand the inevitable surprises along the way Over the past year, UFC has welcomed and made such deals. I personally have founded and run a fencing contractor business for thirty plus years. I know firsthand the challenges associated with running a successful operation.
